My name is Cheryl Higgins. I grew up in the small town of Fort Branch, Indiana located north of Evansville. I’ve always been rather artistic and made my first cake for my mom’s birthday when I was 10 years old. What a mess that was!
Then in 1995, standing in the checkout line at a local grocery store, I saw a small magazine which gave instructions on how to make some cute kids’ cakes. I thought it looked like fun so I added it to my shopping cart. After making several of the cakes in the magazine, I began looking for other cake decorating magazines. That’s when I discovered the Wilton Yearbooks of Cake Decorating. I began acquiring these wonderful magazines and trying my hand at making a number o fthese cakes. I was hooked!
It was during this time that I also took a basic cake decorating class at a local craft store. From there I began trying things out on my own and brought to life many ideas that had previously only existed in my head. My favorite thing to do in regard to cake decorating is to make fondant figures to place on my cakes. I try to include at least one or two fondant pieces for each cake I make.
I love my clients, so feel free to schedule a face-to-face appointment.
